The American Society of History, Arts and Letters

ASHAL — Orlando, Florida, USA

The American Society of History, Arts and Letters (ASHAL) is an academic society based in Orlando, Florida, with an international vocation, dedicated to the production, preservation, and dissemination of knowledge in the fields of History, Literature, Arts, Culture, Science, and other areas of intellectual inquiry.

ASHAL was founded with the purpose of advancing intellectual thought, scholarly research, creative production, and cultural exchange — bringing together individuals committed to the value of knowledge, memory, art, and the written word as instruments of human development and dialogue among peoples.

To become a Founding Member of ASHAL means to participate in the establishment of an international institution committed to intellectual, cultural, and humanistic excellence — a space dedicated to the circulation of ideas, the publication of works and studies, the promotion of cultural projects, and the strengthening of intellectual production on a global scale.

Reflecting its international nature and its constitution in the United States, ASHAL adopts English as its primary language for texts, publications, and editorial projects. Contributions submitted by members in other languages may be translated as needed, in order to facilitate their integration into the Society's editorial initiatives, their international circulation, and their global reach.

Purpose

The purpose of The American Society of History, Arts and Letters (ASHAL) is to advance the production, preservation, and international dissemination of knowledge — building bridges among people, cultures, institutions, and intellectual traditions.

ASHAL understands that knowledge must not remain confined to small circles; it must circulate, educate, inspire, and reach new generations. The Society was therefore founded with the mission of strengthening the presence of History, Literature, Arts, Culture, Science, and humanistic thought in the public and international sphere.

ASHAL seeks to foster a living community of intellectual production — one in which works, research, projects, memories, and cultural contributions can be valued, published, shared, and preserved.

Its purpose is to help knowledge become legacy; to give memory permanence; to provide space for artistic and literary creation; and to allow different voices committed to cultural excellence to engage in dialogue on an international stage.

Mission

The mission of ASHAL is to advance the production, preservation, and international dissemination of knowledge through cultural, editorial, educational, artistic, and institutional initiatives.

The Society works to encourage research, writing, reading, artistic creation, academic production, translation of works, publication of studies, the preservation of historical memory, and cultural exchange among different countries and intellectual communities.

Through publications, editorial projects, lecture series, conferences, cultural programs, educational initiatives, anthologies, honors, and institutional cooperation, ASHAL seeks to broaden the reach of significant ideas, works, and intellectual legacies.

Its mission is to serve as a meeting point between knowledge and society — contributing to the recognition of culture, history, literature, arts, and science as forces of human development, identity, transformation, and lasting legacy.

Vision

ASHAL envisions becoming an internationally recognized institution at the forefront of advancing knowledge, culture, literature, arts, history, science, and humanistic thought.

The Society seeks to establish itself as a space of intellectual and cultural prestige — capable of connecting authors, researchers, artists, educators, institutions, and communities across different countries, promoting the international circulation of ideas, works, and projects.

Its vision is to contribute to the formation of a global network committed to excellence, the preservation of memory, the dialogue among cultures, and the building of an intellectual legacy capable of transcending borders and generations.

ASHAL aspires to be recognized not merely as a cultural society, but as an international platform for the dissemination of knowledge, the recognition of intellectual production, and the promotion of exchange among peoples, traditions, and ways of thinking.

The work of ASHAL is guided by values that express its institutional identity and its commitment to culture, knowledge, and society.

A Message from the President

The American Society of History, Arts and Letters (ASHAL) was born from a conviction: knowledge must cross borders, reach people, and connect cultures.

We live in an era of accelerated information — but not always of genuine formation. It is therefore increasingly necessary to create institutional spaces committed to intellectual excellence, cultural responsibility, and the dissemination of knowledge that contributes to human development and the preservation of memory.

ASHAL was established in the United States with an international vocation — bringing together History, Literature, Arts, Culture, Science, and all areas of knowledge under one shared mission: to honor intellectual production, to encourage creation, to promote cultural exchange, and to ensure that significant works, research, life stories, and ideas reach new audiences.

ASHAL aspires to be a meeting place for people committed to knowledge, art, the written word, memory, and legacy — a space where different traditions can engage in dialogue; where intellectual production finds recognition and circulation; and where culture is understood as a living force of identity, transformation, and permanence.

As President of ASHAL, I am committed to working so that this institution becomes a meaningful instrument of cultural and intellectual connection among authors, researchers, artists, and institutions. May ASHAL be a space of excellence, but also of purpose; of recognition, but also of service; of memory, but also of the future.

Together, let us build an institution capable of honoring knowledge, preserving what deserves to endure, and spreading ideas that transcend borders and generations.
